If found guilty of the three charges levelled against him by a magistrate court in Lagos, Lanre Gentry could face up to three years in prison.
Over the past few weeks, the actress made shocking revelations about her 7-year old marriage which she claimed was plagued by domestic violence, infidelity and even shared pictures of her battered face on social media as well as a doctor’s report of a fractured skull.
She also claimed that her husband had threatened her life.
A magistrate court in Ikeja, Lagos has now remanded the popular hotelier, in prison on three counts of domestic violence, assault, and threat to life.
Media and entertainment lawyer, Olumide Mustapha disclosed that Gentry might get up to three years in prison if found guilty of at least the assault charge.
Assault occasioning actual bodily harm is much more serious and is known as a felony. So, if he is found guilty of that, that carries a prison sentence of up to three years.
Gentry, who has pleaded not guilty to all charges, has sent counter accusations against his wife, claiming her allegations are all lies and accusing her of being unfaithful in their seven-year marriage.
