Saturday Motivation: 7 things you need to always remember

As human beings, we all need to be mentally strong to withstand and face what is ahead of us.

Saturday Motivation: 7 things you need to always remember

And there is always the inner battlefield how to relate especially when others are involved. Hence this list below, that will serve as a reminder of what you need to do to remain a mentally strong individual.

1. Sometimes you have to do what’s best for you and your life, not what’s best for anyone/everyone else. You first before others.

2. Never feel guilty about removing toxic people from your life. You don’t owe them anything. Remember, it’s your life. If they doesn’t sit well with you, let them go and be bold about it.

3. Sunsets are proof that no matter what happens, every day can end beautifully.

4. The happiest people are the givers not the takers.

5. The world is full of good people, if you cannot find one, be one.

6. Actions prove who people truly are, words just prove who they want to be. So watch closely and don’t be deceived by mere words.

7. Life is full of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them, that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally in whatever way they like.

Welcome to another Saturday. Whatever you do today, don’t forget to rest and pamper yourself. After all the week’s stress, you deserve it.

Love Always…. M.

Friday Motivation: Just maybe you were built for all this

Life is hard, and sometimes it can get so overwhelming. But this is to let you know that you’re not alone in this.

Friday Motivation: Just maybe you were built for all this

Everything happens for a reason and you may be facing your hardest at the moment because of any if the following reasons:

Maybe it’s not supposed to be easy for you. Maybe you’re one of the rare few who can handle tough times and still choose to be a loving person.

Probably, everything is going the way it is because you were built for this.

Maybe it’s just your time to refine. Maybe the pieces are being put in position and just maybe, it’s not a test after all.

Maybe it’s all being prepared for your good and rushing it will ruin it..

Maybe you’re as different as you feel and maybe you’ll stay strong long enough to teach other people to feel the same about themselves.

Maybe, we’ll call it love.

Maybe, this is just the way your own growth looks and it’s okay to accept that.

As long as you’re doing your very best and giving it your all, by all means, keep going.

Friday Motivation: Just maybe you were built for all this

Dont stress a thing, don’t fret. This will only make you loose focus and not notice the little blessings in front of you.

It’s all going to be fine, it’s going to work out because you’re not going to stop putting in the work.

Just keep at it and believe that your present situation is preparing you for your breakthrough.

Ponder on this as you go through today in anticipation for the weekend.

Have a great day.

Love Always… M.

Thursday Motivation: Feelings are important, don’t let life shut you up

How often do you express your feelings? How often do you let people around you know that they are still important to you?

Thursday Motivation: Feelings are important, don't let life shut you up

Most of us have ruined our lives by desensitizing ourselves and taking people for granted.

We are on a self-destruct mission because we are wary, wary of expressing out feelings.

Nobody is an island, in one way or the other, we desperately need each other (maybe not desperate though, but we do need others.)

We are all afraid to say too much, to feel too deeply, to care, to let people know what they mean to us.

Just so you know, caring is not synonymous to crazy! Maybe you think others will tag you ‘crazy’ for showing your feelings.

Expressing to someone how special they are to you will make you vulnerable, no doubt but there is nothing to be ashamed of. Most importantly, your feelings.

There is something beautiful in the moments of smaller magic that occur when you strip down and are honest to those who are important to you.

You let that person in, you make them happy and appreciative. It takes nothing from you!

Let that person know that he/she inspires you, pay a compliment to your colleague, appreciate your parents.

Express, express those feelings, don’t keep them bottled up inside before they choke you to death.

Or do you want to package and sell them?

Good people are hard to find these days, so when you have one, make them feel special.

Thursday Motivation: Feelings are important, don't let life shut you up

Open yourself up, do not harden yourself to the world or let it dictate how you’re supposed to feel because of all the wrong things going on.

Be that different factor.

Be bold in who you are and how you love.

There is alot of courage in that…never you forget that.

Have a most beautiful day with loads of laughter and happiness.

Love Always.. M.

Wednesday Motivation: Your suffering and pain is changing you, believe it or not

Most of the time, we are oblivious or neglect the essence of suffering. It’s a sure thing that nobody wants to suffer but nevertheless, we experience it all the same.

Wednesday Motivation: Your suffering and pain is changing you, believe it or not

Those are part of the spice of life. Like your meal that needs different ingredients to be tasty, life also needs different experiences (spices) to make it worthwhile.

And there are a lot we can do instead of brooding and feeling down. These are not just some words to soothe you, they are the truth.

Everything is about your mindset, your perception to life and and your attitude. Remember, attitude is everything.

Would you rather be angry, grumpy because you’re suffering at the moment, because things are not going as planned? Because you’re in pain?

When you can instead be happy, keep the faith while having a positive outlook to life.

Anger, lamentations, feelings of misery blocks our eyes/minds to notice what that period is trying to teach us. Those emotions prevent us from seeing the best ahead of us.

You can deal with suffering in other ways than that.

Pastor David Crosby in his book, Your Pain is Changing You, Discover the Power of a Godly response writes:

You do not get to choose the events that come your way nor the sorrows that interrupt your life.

They will likely be a surprise to you, catching you off guard and unprepared.

You may hold your head in your hand and lament your weak condition and wonder what you ought to do.

To suffer, that is common to all.

To suffer and still keep your composure, your smile, your faith; that is remarkable.

Pain will change you more profoundly than success or good fortune.

Suffering shapes your life, your perception, your values and priorities, your goals and dreams.

Your pain is changing you.

Again, your pain is changing you. Be open to that feeling and experience the change.

Wednesday Motivation: Your suffering and pain is changing you, believe it or not

Everybody suffers, so you’re not alone in this. We all got our battles ravaging inside of us, never forget to carry your head like a king or queen that you are.

Wishing you a day full of happiness and productivity, cheers!

Love Always… M.

Tuesday Motivation: The 7 steps to self-discovery

Yesterday, we talked about self-discovery and the importance of every human being to partake in the journey to discover themselves in all their glory and to help you answer the question ‘Who are you’ accurately.

Tuesday Motivation: The 7 steps to self-discovery

For starters, beginning the self-discovery journey may look confusing, ambiguous and discouraging but that’s why there are steps, to help you on that path to know more about yourself.

As explained by EvelynLim, find them below:

Step 1: Face Your Demons.

Understand and examine your life critically; as if you’re viewing your life under a microscope. Confront your emotional issues and weaknesses, because they reveal the separation from the real You. The real you is an authentic, powerful loving and nurturing being. Seek to know more about yourself. Learn to forgive yourself. Let go of negativity because those negative thoughts and beliefs have been your obstacles to inner growth. Accept who you truly are. Be free and happy.

Step 2: Recognise Your Strengths.

The process of self-discovery is not just about unearthing nasty stuff about yourself. It is also about honoring your strengths and abilities. As you become more aware of what you are good at, you lessen the list on your weaknesses. You need to learn to love yourself.
You really have to look inside yourself and find your own inner strength. Be proud of yourself, celebrate your growth and your life’s journey so far. Realize that you’re stronger than you imagined.

Usually, your position of strengths come from your interests and hobbies. List down activities that you enjoy currently or have enjoyed in the past. Find out what makes your heart sing. Find out what keeps you excited. Find out what inspires you. These are the things that define You.

Step 3: Ask Yourself: What Is Your Life Purpose?

It is important to ask yourself what you want out of life and work towards it. Having a purpose that connects to your inner being is fulfilling. Without a purpose and direction, you will be like a vehicle that is  going nowhere.

Start by listing down everything you would like to achieve. The one that stands out is the one that has made you cry or that has resonated best with you. You may also want to use the opportunity to consider your life goals in all aspects: physical, mental and spiritual.

Step 4: Clarify Your Core Values.

In the questioning process, ask yourself what your personal values are. Core values will be things like compassion, honesty, love, kindness, loyalty etc. Clarifying your core values will give you an exact picture of who you are.
It is important your actions are supported by your core values and fundamentals. Picture yourself in different scenarios and ask yourself how you would act if faced with such, by that, you would know which value is more important to you.

Step 5: Find Inspiration From Things Around You.

Self improvement books can been particularly helpful, atleast, they have been for me, in discovering more about myself. Hence, if you still find it difficult to know yourself, look for books, listen to podcasts, or if you’re a more hands-on person, you can seek help from thought coaches.
Being with Mother Nature is also a good idea. You tend to connect better to your inner being, when you are more relaxed. The answers that you seek, while in a state of mental relaxation, surface more easily.

Step 6: Spend Time Alone
.

To know a person, is to spend time with him or her. In the same manner, to build a relationship with yourself, you need to spend time getting to know more about yourself. You cannot know yourself well, if you are surrounded by lots of noise, friends and family, or if you are always preoccupied in your mind and with things to do. Enjoy your own company.

To kickstart the process of self discovery, it may be a good idea to go on a retreat. This is especially if you find it hard to think clearly amidst the everyday mayhem that is going on in your life. To know yourself intimately, make an exclusive date – away from your spouse or partner, kids, friends, colleagues, boss and parents.
Time alone to meditate and reflect is productive time. You cannot expect to function well physically everyday, if you are out of balance in other aspects such as mentally and spiritually. Very importantly, try to have a “me” time on a regular basis. For me, I spend “me” time reading books, taking a walk, listening to songs or just meditating.

Tuesday Motivation: The 7 steps to self-discovery

Step 7: Journalling.

You can get to know yourself better through the process of journaling.

Get a diary, write about your likes and dislikes, and reactions to your various experiences. As you write, you are connecting to your deeper self. Your writeups can provide much needed clues about your emotions, strengths, weaknesses and areas that you never knew about yourself. They provide an opportunity for you to heal and grow.

Like Orison Swett Marden said: The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment, it is not in luck or chance, or the help of others; it is in yourself alone.

No truer words have been spoken!

Self discovery is not a one-day or a one-week affair. It takes a lifetime of building a relationship with yourself and rediscovering yourself because your inner self is not going to stay constant. You are evolving all the time.

Additionally, as you mature, you gain insights that make up the New You and experience more things, you become clearer and clearer, in the intent that you sent out to the Universe.

Ultimately, the more you know yourself, the more empowered you are going to be.

Have a productive day, filled with smiles, kindness, goals and accomplishments.

Love Always… M.

Monday Motivation: On the journey to self-discovery

The moment a person starts on the path to self-discovery, to find themselves, they never look back.

Monday Motivation: On the journey to self-discovery

Because, besides being eye-opening, it is very beneficial to the sojourner.

Self-discovery means many things. It means finding your purpose in life because we all do have a purpose, it means digging deep into your childhood and revealing the experiences that shaped you… good and bad. It means realizing what your beliefs are and living/sticking by them.

And the effects of self-discovery are very self rewarding, it includes clarity, happiness and fulfillment. What could be better!

The journey however is not always an easy road as it includes fear, confusion, misunderstanding, doubt and literally re-visiting all your choices in life, a complete cleanup of the mind and even letting go of some people whom you hold dear.

Also, it requires making some tough decisions and sticking to them. Sometimes, you will have to make enemies in the process because discovering yourself also involves not being at the mercy of others.

While I was growing up, i know someone who was very intelligent but terribly shy and he kept these set of friends that knew his weakness and preyed on it.

Everything he did, he relied totally on them. Before he would volunteer for anything, he had to make sure they were also participating. He was practically their slave – in making other friends, believing their definition of who he was, general participation in everything, even to the point of academics.

Then boom, one Summer holiday, he returned and never remained the same. He took charge of his life and this would later make him be the Head Boy in our final year of secondary school. You can only imagine how his former friends were pissed! They had lost control, he was finally out of their grip.

At the time, I didn’t know what self-discovery was or the pattern it followed, I just knew i liked what I saw and that everyone should imitate such; be the boss of their own life.

Some of us are in jobs, relationships, friendships because of the lies we tell ourselves and those we were told by others which have come to make home in our heart.

The journey of self-discovery involves telling yourself the truth, admitting your feelings and fears.

You are in charge of your life and only you hold the power to direct it to wherever you choose. Discover your purpose, not what someone feel you ought do.

Monday Motivation: On the journey to self-discovery

Have the power to say No and mean No! Don’t be a walkover, you weren’t created for that.

Be yourself ultimately and create that impact you were made for, then watch the Universe turn everything around in your favour.

When I discover who I am, I’ll be free ~ Ralph Ellison.

Freedom of the mind, body and soul.

I wish you all a fantastic week ahead.

Remember that today sets the pace for the entire week, so please, by all means, start right and make it count.

Love Always… M.

Sunday Inspiration: Patience, waiting on God’s manifestation

Patience is a virtue, a conquering virtue that most people don’t possess because we’re so in a haste to go on to the next level, phase.

Sunday Inspiration: Patience, waiting on God's manifestation

But here’s the drill, patience isn’t just meant to make you wait. It’s actually meant to prepare you.

You cannot be content with where you are when you’re more focused on where you’re not. You rob yourself of your own joy and the experience of enjoying that particular moment.

No matter what season you are in, God has a plan for you where you are. Your purpose isn’t just waiting for you in the next phase of your life.

Your purpose is right here and now.

In every season, it is God’s will that we are matured a day equipped for the next.

In Jeremiah 29:11, it is written: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord plans to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you hope bring you to an expected end.

So instead of sitting around and brooding in your bitterness about where you are, use this time to grow, to mature and make the most of what God has ahead/in front for you.

Use the time for your personal development, maybe that’s why there’s still a delay in your elevation. You’re not equipped for the next phase.

Patience is one of the special gifts of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22), probably you should seek His guidance in learning how to chill and wait on God.

Sunday Inspiration: Patience, waiting on God's manifestation

The waiting period can be so exhausting, no doubt but when you wait with God, not just wait on Him, He will certainly renew your strength.

Commit everything to Him in prayer and it won’t seem like waiting anymore.

Have a blast in His presence today, not forgetting to drop all your worries at His feet as we step into a new week, the Lord will take care of you.

Happy beautiful Sunday.

Love Always… M.

Saturday Motivation: 6 hard truths about life you need to accept

Inorder to become mentally and intellectually strong as well as attain success, we need to know and accept these hard truths. You’re not too young to know, neither are you too old to accept them.

Saturday Motivation: 6 hard truths about life you need to accept

1. Not many people really care about your matters. They ask and comment simply because they’re curious, don’t let them affect the decisions you make. Also master the difference between those who really care and those who are just asking to know.

2. You’ll suck at everything in the beginning but if you’re patient and persevere, time will reward you with what you deserve. Nothing good comes easy. Keep your head high and stay on top of your game.

3. No matter how good or bad your life is, always remember that “this time will pass away”. It’s left for you handle each phase with wisdom. Don’t get carried away with the good times that you forget to make proper investments. Don’t brood either when things are bad.

4. Sometimes, people close to you see things more clearly than you do. Let go of your ego and take the good advice. Build yourself to the point that you know what to accept and what to trash.

5. You’ll fail countless times before you succeed. But that doesn’t matter. What matters is doing the right things when the opportunity arises. Grab it and make the most of it.

6. There are no answers to some questions. If you can’t get them after trying, that means you need to let go. Don’t waste your time any longer, trying to figure things out.

Happy Saturday people. Do have a very lovely day.

Love Always… M.

Friday Motivation: What your emotions are trying to tell you

No doubt, we’re to dwell on the good/positive emotions and trash the bad/negative ones… but have you ever considered that probably they are trying to pass a message or signals which will be essential for your success?

Friday Motivation: What your emotions are trying to tell you

Yup! Our negative emotions have a message too and these are what they sound like too:

Bitterness shows you where you need to heal, where you are still holding judgements on yourself and others.

Resentment shows you’re still living in the past and not allowing the present to be as it is.

Discomfort shows you need to pay attention right now to what is happening because you’re being given the opportunity to change, to do something different that you typically do.

Anger shows you what you’re passionate about, where your boundaries are and what you believe needs to change about the world.

Disappointment shows that you tried for something and you did not give in to apathy, that you still care.

Guilt shows you you’re still living life in other people expectations of what you should do.

Shame shows you you’re internalizing other people’s belief about how you should be (or who you are) and that you need to reconnect with yourself.

Anxiety shows you that you need to wake up right now and you need to be present, that you’re stuck in the past and living in fear of the future.

Sadness shows you the depth of your feeling, the depth of your care for others and this world.

Before you wave off that negative emotion, think about it, analyze it. It’s probably trying to point you in the right direction, because you can only move on to the next level when you’ve completely healed.

You’ve got this, everything is in your hands, you only have to decide to make a change for the best.

Listen to your emotions today..

Have an amazing day and an even  more amazing weekend ahead.

Love Always… M.

Thursday Motivation: Learning as a path to success

As we go through life, it is necessary to take note of important life lessons because they help for better self-improvement.

Thursday Motivation: Learning as a path to success

We all learn things consciously or unconsciously daily but do we take them into cognizance?

Read this powerful piece, as written legendary poet and author, Maya Angelou:

I’ve learned that no matter what happens or how bad it seems today, life does goes on and it will be better tomorrow.

I’ve learned that you can tell alot from a person by the way he/she handles three things; a rainy day, a lost luggage and tangled christmas lights.

I’ve learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you will miss them when they’re gone from your life.

I’ve learned that making a “living” is not the same as making a “life”.

I’ve learned that sometimes life gives you second chance.

I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands, you need to be able to throw something back.

I’ve learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.

I’ve learned that even even when I have pains, I don’t have to be one.

I’ve learned that everyday you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug or just a friendly pat on the back.

I’ve learned that I still have a lot to learn.

I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did but they will never forget how you made them feel.

Those were her life lessons.

Thursday Motivation: Learning as a path to success

What are yours? What have you learned so far? Are you putting it into practice for a better life experience?

Let this sink in for today as we aim to be the best not the first.

Have a most beautiful day!

Wednesday Motivation: A taste of your own medicine

We’re familiar the statement – ‘a taste of one’s own medicine’. What does yours taste like?

Wednesday Motivation: A taste of your own medicine

In relating with people, we tend to (want to) pay them back in the same coin they handed to us but how about doing something different by not giving them a taste of their own medicine.

They already know what it tastes like. Give them a taste of your own medicine.

If they lied, let your medicine with honesty, if they played with your emotions, let your medicine be maturity. If they broke you, let your medicine heal. If the tn made you cry, let your medicine make them smile.

In everything negative you receive, turn it around and pay back with positives. Don’t drag yourself down to their low level, take it up a notch.

These remedies of yours may take weeks, even years to take effect but they work and they last!

Don’t let peoples’ behaviour/attitude change who you are. Don’t give them that power!

Be patient, stay true to yourself and remember that it is better for people to value you for who you are and not for who you pretend to be.

Who you are lasts a lifetime, who you pretend to be changes like the change of seasons.

Like Najwa Zebian, an author and educator would say, Don’t be afraid to be yourself even if it means removing yourself from the lives you want to be in. You are no doubt, worthy of being valued for who you are. So be who you are.

In everything you do, let kindness be your watchword because at the end of the day, that is what makes you really brave.

Let people see the difference in you. Be the reason they want to change for the better.

It’s a beautiful Wednesday, here’s wishing you an overall beautiful day with lots of love, accomplishments and a taste of your sweet sweet medicine.

Love Always… M.

Tuesday Motivation: The type of person you should be

Always be the best person you can be. Be impeccable at all times.

Tuesday Motivation: The type of person you should be

Be kind even when you’re tired.

Be understanding even when you’re angry.

Be friendly even when you’d rather keep to yourself.

Be loving even when you feel unappreciated.

Be hardworking especially when you feel like giving up.

Do more than you’re asked and never ask for anything in return. Don’t silently ask for anything either.

Listen when someone talks and really listen too, stop thinking of how you’ll reply.

Tell people that you love and appreciate them. Go out of your way to do things for people.

Be the greatest person you can ever be and when you mess up, make up for it as soon as you can.

Nevertheless, always remember to put yourself first.

Learn the art of compromise.

One thing you should never do? Never spend your time trying to prove to someone that you’re great. Do your part and if they don’t realise it, let them be.

We have little time on Earth, don’t waste yours trying to win someone over. Sooner or later, your actions will speak for itself.

Be unapologetically confident, even when you don’t feel like it and have to fake it. Worse case scenario, people won’t be able to tell the difference.

We are all a work in progress and one thing that distinguish a successful person from others is his/her ability to grow, improve and become better.

It’s so easy to behave as we like, heck, sometimes, it’s even less stressful but remember that you ain’t in the world alone.

You equally need others to grow so it’s only right to treat them with a sense of care and be smart at it too.

At the long run, it will all work in your favour. Just bear that in mind..Like DJ Khaled will say, don’t play yourself.

Wishing you the very best of today, have a great one. Cheers!

Love Always… M.

Monday Motivation: Seeking and dwelling in happiness always

The essence of happiness can never be overemphasized, especially in our world today where people are so angry, situations are so difficult and dreams are being squashed on a daily.

Monday Motivation: Seeking and dwelling in happiness always

One of the things that can sustain you and keep your head above the troubling waters is being happy.

Contrary to what most people think, happiness comes from within. You must open yourself to a whole new world to experience it, as well as let go of all the other negative feelings.

Happiness keeps you sane and equally focused.

What makes you happy? I can tell you what makes me happy.

I am happy when I have a good night’s sleep, when I eat fresh fruits, when I speak to family and friends, when I listen to music especially a new song, when I watch an interesting movie, when I finish a book that I thoroughly enjoy.

I am happy when I have food, water, friends I can rely on, electricity, working internet connection.

I love the fact that I’m healthy and can experience life to the fullest – that brings me alot of happiness.

When people are polite to me, complement and smile to me, that makes me really happy.

I am happy when I burst out laughing or when I see things that make me smile. I’m equally glad when I learn something new and meet some new friends. I am happy when I exercise.

You see people, there are so many simple things in life that can bring us alot of happiness, think about them more than all the bad things that can happen in this life.

I will be a liar if I told you I don’t succumb to pressure sometimes and become sad but that only happens because I don’t channel  my thoughts back to my source of happiness. However, that still doesn’t last because I discover I have a million things to be happy about, so why fret about one that went bad?!

Monday Motivation: Seeking and dwelling in happiness always

Identify what makes you happy today and completely focus all your energy on them.

Let the good overpower the evil and radiates outwardly

Don’t give way for sadness to happen, you have every reason to be grateful and happy in the world.

Today is the beginning of a fresh week so it’s right you start with a better equipped mindset.

Find happiness in every single situation you find yourself in, be sure proud carrier of it and believe me, your life will never remain the same. (you can refer back to this post about the 5 steps to attain pure happiness.)

Have a fabulous day and a productive week ahead.

Love Always… M.

Sunday Inspiration: Working in tune with the Holy Spirit to get answers

Over the past week, I have been bombarded with hearing alot about the Holy Spirit than usual

Sunday Inspiration: Working in tune with the Holy Spirit to get answers to our prayers

Everywhere I turn, there was always a message about the Holy Spirit and how He operates as opposed to how we think He does.

And it is amazing!

So far, what I have come to deduce in clear understanding is that the Holy Spirit works in signs and signals, strange? No? Maybe you already know that, kudos to you then!

In reality, we ask God for things and we get bumped when they don’t come our way, but it’s only because, we’ve probably been blind to notice. I am guilty of this but this insight I’m getting about the Holy Spirit is changing the game for me.

In the Bible, God himself told us to ask, seek and knock. Needless to say that we make use of that priviledge to the fullest capacity but sadly, sometimes we don’t get results or they are not forthcoming. Hmm.

Here’s how the Holy Spirit works because manner does not fall from heaven like in the days of old.

– I was once looking for a house and he led me to it. The place was perfect, exactly what I wanted but I couldn’t afford the rent. Surprisingly, he sent me a landlord, that was willing to collect part payment. Hence, I got the house and a suitable payment plan.

– When I was in business and looking for money because I was broke, He sent me a side job that I could do and earn extra cash.

– I needed clarity in my life and He sent people (in form of mentors and coaches) my way to point me in the right direction.

Understand that at the time, I didn’t see the above as answers to my prayers, I just flowed with what I got but the result was magical.

There are many ways in which the Holy Spirit works that we neglect as humans because it’s not plain black and white as we asked.

When I understood this insight, I went back and did a thorough examination of conscience, only to discover that most of my prayers got answered in one way or the other but I was too enmeshed in my selfishness to notice..

These are many of the ways, the Spirit shows himself.

You also have to be ready to put in work.

The Holy Spirit comes in forms of signs, gentle voices, signals and human vessels. He sends people your way that will provide a solution for you.

Today search yourself, look inwardly and listen attentively.

The answer to that thing you have been praying for may just be staring you in the face. Open your eyes and mind to it.

Don’t let the noise of the world drown you.

Have a most wonderful Sunday.

Love Always… M.

Saturday Motivation: The things that don’t define you

Pay no heed to them!

Saturday Motivation: The things that don't define you

It’s a trap to be fueled by praise and defeated by criticism. None of them defines you.

Just so you know, we’re all constantly becoming, changing, growing so nobody’s opinion can embody who you are.

Get rid of the labels. Don’t commit to approval, commit to growth.

The growth that takes place when no one is watching, the growth that outlives the opinions of people.

There’s an obvious difference between making real self-improvement and wanting to be noticed or seeking approval. Do your thing, work on yourself, develop your skills and feel the growth that comes with change.

Leave all the unnecessary drama on social media; the luxury lifestyle and flashy cars. Those things don’t define you, neither should they lead you to a place of longing for other people’s lives.

Trust me, most often than not, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Nurture your own grass instead, for it to flourish the best, you’ve got what it takes in abundance.

Be thankful for seeing this beautiful Saturday, I hope you enjoy it to the fullest. Have a fantastic day.

But you are all the books you read and all the words you speak.

You are your croaky morning voice and the smile you try to hide.

You are the sweetness in your laughter and every tear you’ve cried.

You are the songs you sing so loudly, when you know that you’re all alone.

You’re the places you have been to, and the one that you call home.

You’re the things that you believe in and the people that you love.

You’re the photos in your bedroom and the people you dream of.

You’re made of so much beauty, it seems you forgot, when you decided that you were defined by all the things you’re not.

The material things don’t matter; they all fade away and are unsatisfying.

Invest in yourself today -read books, visit places, learn new things, meet new people, attend events- because you’re a whole lot special, extraordinarily special plus you attract the same energy you exude.

Never forget: You are your own magic, be kind enough to sprinkle the world with some of it.

Welcome to another weekend, have the most of it. Cheers people!

Love Always… M.

Thursday Motivation: In everything you do, don’t quit

Never you quit! The price of victory is high but so are the rewards.

Thursday Motivation: In everything you do, don't quit
When things go wrong  as they sometimes will. When the road you’re trudging seems uphill. When the funds are low and the debts are high. And you want to smile, but you have to sigh. When care is pressing you down a bit. Rest if you must..but don’t quit.

Life is strange with its twists and turns. As everyone sometimes learns, and many a fellow turns about, when he might have won had he stuck it out. Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow. You may succeed with just another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a fair and faltering man, often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the Victor’s cup. And he learned too late when night came down, how close he was to the Golden crown. It may cross your mind but don’t quit.

Success is failure turned inside out, the silver tint of the clouds of doubt. And you never can tell how close you are. It maybe near when it seems afar, so stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit – it’s when things seem worse that you mustn’t quit.

IT’S WHEN THINGS SEEM WORSE THAT YOU MUSTN’T QUIT.

Good morning people, welcome to another beautiful chance to do better, be better and keep the faith moving.

It’s really hard I must say, but don’t quit. Everything you’re doing now which seems like nothing will eventually amount to something massive soonest. Sit it out with hope for your golden crown soon.

Love Always… M.

Wednesday Motivation: Understanding the process of growth

Growth is a necessary essence of life but sometimes, it can be so confusing that we tend to be destabilized by its occurrence.

But for anyone to succeed, you need to understand when growth is taking place and be open to it.

Wednesday Motivation: Understanding the process of growth

Alice Walker in her book, Living by the Word writes:

“Some periods of our growth can be so confusing that we don’t even recognize that growth is taking place.

We may feel hostile or angry or weepy and hysterical, or we may feel depressed and ready to quit.

It would never occur to us – unless we stumbled on a book or someone who explained to us – that we were in fact in the process of change, of massive growth, in the process of actually becoming larger in all facets of our lives, better than we were before.

Whenever we grow, we tend to feel it as a young seedling must feel the weight and inertia of the Earth as it seeks to break out of its shell on its way to becoming a plant.

Often the feeling is anything but pleasant.

But what is most unpleasant is the feeling of not knowing what is happening.

Those long periods when something inside ourselves seems to be waiting, holding it’s breath, unsure about what the next step should be eventually become the periods we wait for, for it is in those periods, that we realize that we are being prepared for the next phase of our life and that, in all probability, a new level of the personality is about to be revealed”.

Always realize, be self-aware when growth is happening

You already know this, accept growth because it’s easier to handle that way. You tend to feel less grumpy and left out.

It’s mid-week already, trust you’re putting in enough work and striving to be the best you can be.

Keep it moving and never fail to celebrate your little successes. Happy Wednesday.

Love Always… M.

Tuesday Motivation: Be in the moment, good or bad

Learn to appreciate and be in the moment.

Tuesday Motivation: Be in the moment, good or bad

In life, we often think that the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem.

But here’s the bummer!

The real truth is that things don’t really get solved.

They come together for a moment, then they fall back apart. Then, they come together again and fall apart again. It’s just like that – a process of back and forth.

According to Pema Chodron, personal discovery and growth stems from letting there be room for all this to happen: room for grief, room for joy, room for misery, room for happiness, room for suffering, room for setbacks, room for accomplishments, room for relief, room for setbacks.

Suffering comes from wishing things were different. Misery is inflicted when we are expecting the “ideal” to overcome the “actual”, or needing things, people, places to be different for us so we can then be happy.

But sadly, life doesn’t come with a manual of how things are suppose to be. The most you can do is to enjoy the moment; concentrating not only on the good times but also the bad too. There is always something to take out from each phase of life.

Let the hard things in life break you. Let them affect and let them evolve you. Let this hard moments inform you, let this pain be your teacher. The experiences of your life are trying to tell you something about yourself, don’t you dare miss that.

Dont cop out of that, don’t run away and hide under the covers. Lean into it.

Not only the good times need attention, the bad also too.

Seek and find answers from the tide. What is the lesson in this wind? What is this storm trying to tell me? What will I learn if I face it with courage and handle it like a conqueror that I am?

Tuesday Motivation: Be in the moment, good or bad

This is coming because we often detest the bad moments of life, Ofcourse, nobody wants it but it eventually happens so always see it as a means to gain and make it favour you.

Because each moment, however flimsy comes to teach us something.

And when the tides finally turn in your favour, you will realize how you wasted time dwelling, cussing on the bad instead of learning from it.

Be in the moment, either good or bad people…with full honesty, just lean into it.

Its another bright and beautiful day to do better and be better without forgetting to take whatever you can from any situation you find yourself in.

Have a productive day people.

Love Always… M.

Monday Motivation: Earning and reciprocating respect

Respect is a rare quality that makes all humans valuable.

Monday Motivation: Earning and reciprocating respect

In this life, we don’t know where we will go or end up eventually

So no matter what, always allow your dignity to stand, never allow anyone to disrespect you to the extent your value as a human is gone.

Respect is shared and supported.

If no one is not giving you respect, its time for you to move on from those people; it is always said respect should be earned, but honestly you can’t earn it if you are not also giving it out.

Respect is earned because most times it comes from a place of respect.

We are the same people, competing for one space, why we have our space, is because we respect each other boundaries and vice versa….sometimes we want to make it so bad, we put ourselves in unwanted situations.

Monday Motivation: Earning and reciprocating respect

For instance, working in an environment where we are not valued, paid less than minimal wage and not compensated for our time, or being in relationships/partnerships where we are not being appreciated.

Don’t stick to situations like this, even if it is all you have left.

Get up and leave.

Your supervisor or boss is supposed to respect you and that is one of the things that makes you valuable in the workforce and if that is lacking, its time to quit.

The one thing that makes us different from others is our dignity.

Never let anyone take your dignity and never regret anything because in that moment that’s how you felt..we are all humans and are prone to feelings, so express yourself on how you feel in a respectable way if you are not treated well.

However, always remember that a good name is far better than riches.

Never let money consume you so much that you forget to show respect to people because at the end of the day, those people are what you will fall back on.

It’s a beautiful Monday morning, although not a work one for most people due to the holiday.

I can already feel the excitement.

Well, do enjoy the best of the day and always remember that you should always hold yourself in (healthy) high-esteem.

This will make others to treat you with the respect you deserve!

Love Always… M.

Whew!

And just like that October is here!

Sunday Inspiration: Resting in the Lord

Funny how this year ran past. Hope you don’t feel left behind.

Now we’re faced with the stark reality that the year is fast coming to an end.

September was a wonderful month and I’ll be damned if October doesn’t come off way better.

I don’t know about you but I intend to make the most of the remaining 91 days.

Keep doing you, make that impact, smash that goal and never stop believing ‘cos there can be miracles if you believe.

Just incase you’re feeling overwhelmed by everything, take solace in these words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30;

Come to me, all who are weary and overburdened and I will give you rest. Shoulder my Yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. For my Yoke is easy and my burden is light.

It can get really crazy at times, but God’s arms are always available for you to seek comfort in.

He is always ready to listen in prayers, don’t miss an opportunity to be with Him because He will calm the storm in/of your life and in His time, everything will be made perfect!

Welcome to October, let’s just live and be happy in this month.

Good morning beautiful morning, rise and shine. It’s a brand new day, a brand new week, a brand new month and a brand new season!

Friday Motivation: Mindfulness, as the necessary spice of life

Mindfulness is key…

Friday Motivation: Mindfulness, as the spice of life

In our world today, where everyone is seriously struggling to succeed, we forget to live. We are always striving for more, wanting more and seeking more that we neglect the present.

We are so conscious with planning for the future, which is not a bad thing afterall because we all deserve a secured tomorrow but the issue is that we tend to be unaware of this very moment, forgetting that we will never experience it again.

We do not appreciate the present enough; it’s either we’re dwelling on the past or concentrating so much on the future.

We are not mindful.

We hold on so tightly to the good times and detest the bad times, but they both go hand in hand to teach us very important life lessons.

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of what we are and what we are doing, not wishing for a difference because every single experience is necessary for life.

The journey is as important as the destination.  Never forget that, just simply live through it and find joy while doing so.

This quote by James Baraz explains what mindfulness is really about. He wrote:

Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now, without wishing it were different.

Enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will).

Being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t).

Mindfulness is simply the key to having a fulfilled life.

Have a lovely day and ultimately an enjoyable life experience.

Welcome to the weekend yo!

Love Always… M.

Thursday Motivation: Think And Grow Rich

Think and grow rich; the way to personal achievement.

Thursday Motivation: Think and grow rich

These underlisted points culled from Napoleon Hill‘s best seller book, think and grow rich. They will definitely set you in the right direction. Indulge below:

1. Thoughts are things. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, man is capable of bringing into reality.

2. Desire. There are no limitations except those we set for ourselves. Both poverty and riches are the direct results of our thoughts.

3. Faith. Ideas are being transformed into huge fortunes all around us. Using that medium of faith, you can join that group of friends with great achievements.

4. The Sixth Sense. This is the creative part of the mind creating hunches and inspiration. Can be enhanced or refined.

5. AutoSuggestion. Man is the master of his own destiny because he has the power to influence what he thinks about using the techniques of autosuggestion.

6. Specialized Knowledge. The intelligent direction of specialized knowledge is the most frequent way of amassing wealth.

7. The Brain. Capable of both receiving and broadcasting thoughts directly to or from other people.

8. Imagination. The imagination is the workshop in which all tools can be prepared and fashioned for action.

9. Decision. Successful people have the habit of reaching decision quickly and changing them slowly, if ever. They have also conquered procrastination.

10. Organized Planning. Everything created begins on the form of desires which are taken to the workshop of desires for proper organization and planning.

11. Power of the Mastermind. You automatically take in the habits and the power of people you associate with. Contrary this by forming a mastermind group who can assist you to achieve your dreams.

12. Persistence. Willpower, desires and persistence are essential for the transmuting of desires into monetary equivalents.

13. The Mystery of Sex Transmutation. Sex transmutation involves the transfer of sexual desires into a motivating force for financial improvement.

14. The Subconscious Mind. A vast reservoir storing every impulse or thought received through the five senses.

15. The Six Ghosts of  Fear. The master key that unlocks the door to life’s bountiful riches is the priviledge of creating in your own mind, a burning desire to succeed. The satisfaction that comes to all who conquer self  and force life to pay whatever they demand is overwhelming.

It’s time to have a re-think!

There is no doubt that these points above will be useful in your ultimate quest to attain wealth and be successful.

Have a most lovely day, good morning people.

Love Always… M.

Wednesday Motivation: Setbacks, the fuel for success

Stay passionate about what’s been put in your heart. All setbacks means you’re one step closer to seeing the dream come to pass – Joel Osteen.

Wednesday Motivation: Setbacks, the fuel for successI can’t even begin to list the setbacks I’ve faced while on my journey to self-discovery, the most recent almost shattering me to pieces. It’s really crazy, I must add.
But like they say, when something bad happens to you, you have three options on how to deal with it. You can either let it define you, let it destroy you or you can let it strengthen you. (or you can also learn from it and move on).

Certain awful things happen, no matter how careful or well-calculated you think you have been, heck, that’s life for you!

Setbacks, failures, mistakes, disappointment, do occur, so what are you going to do about it. Let it destroy you? Let it consume you? You have better options than that.

Life is not for the faint of heart, lol. You have to be mentally, emotionally and physically strong to face all that will be dealt to you inorder to come out a victor!

Setbacks are going to happen, you have to build yourself up for it. Be resilient. Be determined. Be focused. Expect great things from yourself.

Famous supermodel and America’s got talent judge, Heidi Klum once said I am someone who always gets up again, even if there are setbacks. I have a survivor instinct. I’m not sure where it comes from, but probably from all the little things that makes you into who you are.

You can be like that too, getting up always despite setbacks. Fall, but don’t remain on the ground, pick yourself up and continue on your life’s journey stronger.

Wednesday Motivation: Setbacks, the fuel for success

For me, I am learning not to let setbacks destroy or define me. Some can hit you so hard, that you start doubting your entire existence but for all those times, the comeback was amazing because I thought about why it was happening to me and why/how I got there in the first place and what I’m still yet to achieve.

That always catapults me from my setback position, gives me fresh insight that indeed my dreams are almost fulfilled; way closer than farther plus a new opportunity to do better, be better.

And when it hits again, I come back with more fire to weather the storm.

Rise like a Phoenix and be the motivation you need. There is nothing as powerful as a made up mind.

As you step out on this beautiful day, we have been blessed with, remember that you are capable, you are strong and you definitely can handle everything that will be thrown at you.

Tough times don’t last, but tough people do. Focus on your passion and you will be fine.

Do have yourselves a great day!

Love Always… M.
